Buckaroo in training

     Women of the Wild West - woo hoo - got me my cowboy.  After losing to higher bids on e-bay a sister stamper hooked me up. A little across the continent negotiating and at long last I had him in my arms....thank goodness I have an understanding husband!   The Man's a little used, but what man isn't LOL!!  Some of the ladies at Splitcoaststampers have a little rivalry going on about the Man here - I made this card for the Get Dirty Masculine challenge.  I have been waiting for the little buckaroo to arrive for a week with this card in mind.  I do like my western stamps.

Majestic Beauty

     "My treasures do not clink together or glitter, They gleam in the sun and neigh in the night" a gypsy verse that fits this image.

     This is my newest horse image, a stamp from Serendipity Stamps, and its just beautiful. As I colored this image I was thinking of my next trip to the desert to ride with my daughter in a few months.  Hence the lovely Saguaro cactus in the background.  I toyed with several sentiments to place on the front but none of them did justice to this lovely image.
     The image was stamped on Gina K Luxury CS and colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  The background was stamped on some more Gina K Luxury CS, and I used my Copics to color it.  I then tore a piece of paper and laid it in various positions on the background, and with a dauber, gently tapped the color Bliss Blue by Stampin Up to create some clouds.  Then I edged the two rectangular pieces, as well as the image, with my Gold Leafing Pen.
     Stampin Sisters In Christ challenged us to make a card this week that depicts our style.  I don't know about anyone else but my style changes every time I sit down to create a card.  This does however show my love of horses and gives you a feel for who I am.

Western Birthday for DD

    Its my DD birthday - she is a young adult, and I am blessed to be her mother, she brings us great joy.  One of our favorite things to do together is horseback ride so it is no surprise I made her a western themed card.  This is a lovely stamp from Coronado Island Stamps, they offer many lovely and detailed animal designs and have several wonderful horse stamps.  I have stamped them twice and used a die to cut them out and then layered them over each other, below them is a scenic stamp from Local King Rubber Stamps that I purchased last year.  In the picture you cannot see that I used Versamark and stamped the horses all over the background paper....in person it looks like a sky of horses running behind the ones highlighted. Recently reorganized my stamp room and set up my sewing machine, so I stitched around the outside of the layers.  This is something I hope to do on more cards.  Inside I stamped the same scenic stamp (after stamping it off once) and the sentiment above is Happy Birthday Cowgirl - of course!  Its always fun to make cards for her or my son as they are some of my biggest fans!
