I don't make New Years resolutions, why would I set myself up like that!! However, I did decide to push myself to get a little ahead on Christmas 2013 (mentioned in an earlier post). Today when I was picking up some paper a local store was holding for me I 'just had' to grab a few other things....don't you know this little die was sitting right at the checkout and it really caught my eye. What a fun way to use my scrap papers and ribbon with some simple sentiments. Once I started playing there was no stopping me - one little sheet of paper led to another and well.....here are just six cards I got put together, there are a whole buncha lil pieces in a small bag just waiting to be quilted onto paper.
I must confess that I have always admired people with the patience to quilt...I took a class once and managed a pillow, but it wasn't on my list of all time favorite things to do. These little shapes will do just fine for me - I can be a faux quilter - LOL!!
Recently I participated in the challenge at Splitcoast Stampers doing cards for the Cure.....what a surprise when I won 3 months in the Ribbon club at Really Reasonable Ribbon. They were prompt in sending me my first batch of lovely blue ribbon in December, and today I received a variety of pink and Valentines ones......can't wait to use them on some of my 'faux' quilted cards.
Supplies: Wplus9 die, Endless Creations Inc Sentiment, ribbon (American Crafts and Ofray), bling, CB Embossing Folder
Challenges: Our Daily Bread Design Something Old, Something New, Really Reasonable Ribbon New Toy and Ribbon

Your Christmas quilts are beautiful, Sherry! What a fabulous way to use up those scraps AND get a head start on this year's Christmas cards! Thanks so much for playing along with the ODBD Challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty Sherry. I love quilts too, even though I've never actually finished one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great die! Gotta love those impulse buys - especially when we actually use them! Haha! Congrats on winning the Ribbon Carousel challenge - I'm a ribbon addict myself... Faux quilting is so much faster, I agree.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing along in our Shining the Light Challenge this week.
These are beautiful. Great job on these cards. Seems like we all need that die to get rid of scraps.

ReplyDeleteFabulous use of the die and awesome set of cards.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous cards. I was wondering, what was the name of the punch you bought with this design. I would love to get one, as I am hoping to make a card set and a paper crazy quit honoring my mother and in memory of my husband's mother.
ReplyDeleteI love how you took one die and made so many variations. I was thinking about getting a die like this and other quilt dies. But now I'm only going to get this one. Which I liked the most. Thank you
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards. Thank you for sharing them.
