Western Glass Horse Ornament

One of several ornaments I made to take to the Ranch next week as gifts for friends who will be there.  I stamped on acetate with Staz-on the colored on the reverse side with Sharpie paint pens. I cut around the image in a circle, leaving a piece on top to prevent the image from sliding all over once I inserted it into the glass ornament and added some sparkly/glittery confetti to look like snow.  The ribbon was the most difficult part, and that was mainly deciding which style and color I liked.....after this picture I found some lovely ribbon at Michaels that is silver and red and has wire which makes it easier to shape on top of the ornament, good thing I have more ornaments to put ribbon on.  Going to add this to the challenge Twisted Thursdays over at the Outlawz.  TT1124

Angel of Praise

I was in the process of working on a card when this weeks challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ called for making a card of 'praise, that used something related to music'.  The card I was working on had paper on it with musical notes and it seemed like this challenge was calling to me.
My original idea had been to use some lovely vellum paper with music on it but heat embossing on this type of paper really made it difficult to adhere to my shiny cardstock....so I reached for my back up card stock that was cream with red.  Once I got gold off my mind I decided to emboss my sweet little Inkadinkado angel in red, then paired her with a lovely sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs on the outside with an Impression Obsession sentiment on the inside for Christmas, I had a sweet, sweet card to mail to my 92 year old Great Aunt.

Christmas Angels

Recently purchased some adorable Lili of the Valley stamps for Christmas.  I immediately sat down and made 6 cards with the different images for my sisters and some other family members.  From my stash of Christmas DCWV I found some great paper...for this one I used a subtle background of holly leaves red on red with some gold metallic paper and Zva pearls (I like pearls) - These sweet little angels are mounted on my Spellbinders Floral Doily Motif die.  Sparingly used my glitter pen on their wings, stars and shoes.....I was very pleased with how this and the others all turned out.  Such simple but darling images.

Metallic Butterflies

Since my butterfly die arrived in August I have pulled it out to use several times.  Each time I run it through the Grand Caliber and prepare to place it and I change my mind, the color doesn't seem right, it won't work with the rest of the layout.....as excited as I am by the die, I just couldn't seem to find a way to get it to look or work the way I picture it in my mind.  Then along comes the challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs to use metallic.....I knew I wanted to use my butterfly embossing folder and when I cut the butterfly die out in that wonderful shiny gold I knew I had exactly what I wanted.  Topped it off with a great scripture and now I have the card I was hoping for.  I am pretty low on my stash of this great paper and will need to find some more.

Little Baby....

The challenge over at Stampin Sisters in Christ was to dig out an older stamp, that hasn't been used for a while....I have had this sweet little baby stamp for a few years and have only used him once, the sentiment is at least 10 years old, one of my first stamps.  I think they work well together. It took very few Copics to color this with as it is a simple image. I am also entering the Our Daily Bread Designs Sketch Challenge 83, so I followed the layout they have this week.  I wanted my background to be subtle so I chose a  paper that has a silver grey to it with earthy green flourishes, then added a few pearls and stars with some glittery white ribbon.
To date I have finished a bunch of Christmas cards with some new stamps I have that were fun to not only color but hopefully will send the message of the real gift of 'Christ'mas.  Thanks for stopping by.

Small Packages....

Like to follow Selma's Stamping Corner and she had the cutest little box posted with a tutorial.  There was a challenge over at Joan's Garden so I just had to play and make one of these.  Already thinking of papers to use to make more and fill them with goodies for stockings and friends at Christmas.  Selma has a step by step tutorial if you have never done this before. The red band slips over the whole box and serves as a great decoration piece as well as keeping the box closed.

Materials:  Bo Bunny Paper, McGill Pine Punch, Marvy gold marker, some sale bling laying around.

Every Word.....

Yes, ANOTHER step card....once I started playing with this style I was just having too much fun to stop.   Today I used a scripture from Our Daily Bread Designs, Scripture Collection 7 - I will also enter it in their Stamping in Time Challenge #47.   The paper is from a fun DCWV  Christmas Combo I purchased at Jo-Ann Fabrics, there have been a lot of fun papers in this pack.
I have several favorite scriptures and decided to use this from Proverbs on my card.  It highlights for me that God is sovereign, holy and trustworthy and that His word can be relied on in times need.

Thinking Pink

I made this card with someone I just met in mind, she has cancer and I wanted her to know I was thinking of her.  This is one of those Hampton Art $1.00 stamps you find at Michael's and I just love the saying!!  The sweet little contemporary dragon flies are some rubber I bought at a convention many years ago, I believe from StampLaJolla and they are just 'perfect in pink'.  The challenge this week at Our Daily Bread Designs is to create a pink card with an uplifting sentiment......I'm thinking this will work.  I have a new set on order from them that should arrive tomorrow which means I will probably just have to sit down and make another card :)
I used my Copics R81, R83 and R85 - they blended out just beautifully together!
Thanks for Looking
